The 80’s were a weird decade. Cable TV, Reading Rainbow, Tony Danza was famous for some reason, and the home video recorder was made available. Available to awful looking idiots. People who had never had lives, or proper training in cinematography, suddenly had the magic of movie making in their hands…and this is what most of them did with it. Dumb shit. Cocaine was also very cheap back then. That might explain a lot.
